Most of the accommodation facilities in the Krkonose area provide their guests with free parking at or around their buildings. However, if you are going to take a trip or visit the ski resorts by car, you should be aware that parking fees may apply. Town centres usually use ordinary parking meters. Various guarded car parks are also subject to charge. Let’s take a look at how cars can be parked at some of the destinations.


One central car park and one car park in a forest are available. Besides these, free car parks can be used at the upper and lower cable car station.

Cerny Dul

The car park near the ski resort is free, as is that on the main square and below the Mileta textile factory. The total capacity is up to 500 cars. Along the road toward Cihlarska bouda hut, a paid car park is available on the left hand side.


The central car park is located beyond the bus station. Buses can use the area below the central car park for a charge.


Parking meters are used on the main square. Free parking is available next to the Jednota shop, in the residential area and at the train station.

Janske Lazne

Access to the town centre of Janske Lazne is prohibited for traffic except for services, or a permit from the town council is required. Parking is only allowed in designated car parks. The biggest car park with approx. 400 lots is at the lower cable car station of the Cernohorsky Expres. It is a guarded car park with a charge of 50 CZK per day. Car parks equipped with parking meters are available at Dolni promenade below Betlem and in Obchodni Street in front of the Arnika and Sola Fide hotels.


Parking available on Masarykovo Square and Tyrsovo Square, both with parking meters. Free parking is available in Valdstejnska Street, near the roundabout approx. 200 m from the centre, and in a car park near the hospital. Other car parks are near SD Jilm in the residential area and near the Sports Hall.

Mala Upa

The local car parks are divided into those for one-day parking and those for longer parking. One-day car parks are free for visitors to the ski resort but must be vacated before 8 p.m. For more information about locations and prices, see

Mlade Buky

Free parking is available in the car park below the Markid ski resort, with a capacity of 400 cars.

Paseky nad Jizerou

Free parking is available near the ski resorts.

Pec pod Snezkou and Velka Upa

Five parking meters with a charge of 20 CZK per hour and several larger car parks are available in Pec pod Snezkou. Below the Portaska ski resort in Velka Upa resort visitors can use the car park for free for one day (for more information, go to Further information about car parks and fees is available at and go to Tourist information – Parking.

Rokytnice nad Jizerou

Parking meters are used in the centre of Rokytnice nad Jizerou. The Modra hvezda, Stary Mlyn, Zemex, and Studenov car parks and a round-the-clock guarded car park in Horni Rokytnice are subject to charge. Parking at Horni Domky – Lysa hora, P2, P3 and P4 is free while at P1 it is paid.


Two large car parks are available in Strazne. In summers they are free but unguarded.

Spindleruv Mlyn

Quite a few places in Spindleruv Mlyn are available for free parking in winters: P1 “U prehrady” – near the dam 1 km from the centre, Hromovka – below the Hromovka cable car station, P2 “Centrum” – near the Hromovka cable car, and Medvedin. Ski buses provide public transport to/from these car parks. Parking meters are used at Dum sluzeb (direction Svaty Petr) and the Eden hotel. The Bobova draha car park (bobsleigh track, the Harmony hotel) charges, as does the car park in the centre near the post office. For more information, see Car parks.


Zones I and II include car parks in the very centre, where short-term parking is preferred and the fee is higher. Zones III and IV include car parks outside the town centre with a lower fee. Parking in all car parks is subject to charge on weekdays from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., except for Zone I, where the charge always begins at 9 a.m. For more information, go to

Vitkovice, Horni Misecky

Parking at the central car park in Horni Misecky is subject to charge.


Free parking is possible in many places outside the town centre, for instance, in front of the ice stadium, beyond the Augustinian Monastery, in Prazska St., Slovanska St. and in front of the Strelnice culture centre. Parking meters are used in Krkonosska St. in the town centre and in Labska St. by the Labe river bank. Underneath the main square, near the Billa supermarket, is a paid underground car park, with entry from Zamecka St.

Žacler, Prkenny Dul

Car parks near the Arrakis ski resort (120 lots) and Bret ski resort (100 lots) are available for free.
